Stearns Dam Removal Project was completed in October 2013. Post-implementation work left to be complete centers on a livestock control fence installation, augmentation of riparian planting, and site monitoring.  If you are interested in this project, or any of the other Connecting Waters fish passge projects, please contact Chris Gannon at 541.447.8567, or by email at

People's Irrigation District Diversion Dam.  After years of planning and consultation the CRWC worked with many partners to install a nature-like fishway at the People's Irrigation District diversion dam upstream of Prineville, Oregon on the Crooked River. The fish passage structure will allow movements of both adult and juvenile redband trout and newly reintroduced steelhead and salmon to access aquatic habitat while still providing a reliable source of irrigation water for downstream farmers and ranchers.
